Rainy Days: My First True Poem

Dim blue hues of light barely braking through,

I breathe in deep while taking it all inside me.

With true appreciation I sit still,

While all around me are others wishing for sun.

Oh, how perfect then is the day dawning before me,

Leaves dripping and mist surrounding all it touches with gloom.

I can only wish for longer with this settled melancholy day,

Waking each morning and hoping that dramatic clouds hang low and dark.

How perfect then is this moment here before me,

When clouds roll dark, the wind lifts the leaves with a humid dance.
